Developed a passion for chess at a young age during primary school, attaining regional and provincial distinctions. Engaged as both a player and committee member at the local chess club, contributing to the club's vibrant community and organizational efforts. Notably, I spearheaded the organization of prominent chess events, including the esteemed Hermanus Chess Club Open, amplifying the club's presence and fostering community engagement. Demonstrated leadership and expertise in regional and provincial chess circles, serving as an administrator and arbiter. Additionally, dedicated efforts towards coaching both high school and primary school learners, resulting in three primary school students achieving Western Cape distinctions and receiving invitations to the South African Schools Championship.
